Il dominio t.me di Telegram è stato sospeso dal registro dei domini .me (Montenegro) qualche ora fa:

t.me seems to have gone dark shortly before 2000 UTC on Monday evening, with Whois/RDAP records showing it is now placed on serverHold status, which usually indicates a registry-level suspension and removal from the .me zone.

The suspension means that millions of short links using t.me are no longer functioning when clicked, leading instead to NXDOMAIN errors. Substituting t.me for telegram.me can be used as a workaround; the longer domain remains unsuspended.

The most plausible explanation put forward so far but not yet confirmed is that the takedown relates to an order issued Monday by the US government’s Office of Foreign Assets Control, which has broad powers to sanction organizations and individuals it believes are linked to crime and terrorism.

Telegram ha presentato silenziosamente Telegram Serverless, che permette di create bot senza gestire infrastruttura, con il codice eseguito su infrastruttura di Telegram. È inclusa la persistenza SQLite. L'accesso è limitato per ora.

Pavel Durov ha dato di matto definitivamente:

Secondo Durov's Code l'integrazione di Grok in Telegram non è andata a buon fine, nonostante gli annunci, per divergenze sulla privacy dei dati degli utenti. Stesso esito con Perplexity. E quindi Telegram ha lanciato Cocoon come rete di GPU decentralizzata e presumibilmente più "privata".

Il deal era comunque stranissimo dato che xAI avrebbe dovuto pagare Telegram 300 milioni di dollari e poi il 50% di commissione su ogni abbonamento acquistato. Probabilmente xAI voleva in cambio la possibilità di usare i dati per il training e Durov ha detto no.

Telegram aggiunge con lunghissimo ritardo il supporto ai chatbot AI con streaming dei token il 31 dicembre, e sia Perplexity che Microsoft Copilot disattivano i relativi bot Telegram. 😅

Nessuna notizia nemmeno dell'arrivo dell'integrazione di Grok su Telegram, deal strambo secondo cui Grok avrebbe dovuto pagare Telegram 300 milioni di dollari oltre a sobbarcarsi i costi di inferenza. Era stato annunciato in pompa magna da Durov, ora migliore amico di Musk, che però aveva smentito un accordo. Che declino Telegram.

Telegram che mi sospende TrackBot senza apparente motivo per 40 minuti è una novità:

Pavel Durov spamma un messaggio in cui pubblicizza la sua intervista con Lex Fridman a tutti gli utenti francesi. Al resto del mondo mostra solo un banner. Nuovi livello sbloccato di uso personale a vantaggio di sé stessi di un social network.
